Eine Kältetonne entspricht 12000 BTUs pro Stunde:

1 RT = 12000 BTU/hr

Ein BTU pro Stunde entspricht 8.33333×10^-5 Kältetonne:

1 BTU/hr = 8.33333×10^-5 RT

So the Leistung P in refrigeration tons (RT) is equal to the Leistung P in BTUs pro Stunde (BTU/hr) geteilt durch 12000:

P_(RT) = P_(BTU/hr) / 12000

10000 BTU/hr in Tonnen umrechnen:

P_(RT) = 10000 BTU/hr / 12000 = 0.83333 RT
